Networking in the Real Estate Profession

In the real estate profession, networking is one factor that sets a successful Realtor apart from the average agent.

The Realtors who have made a name for themselves are the ones who create networking opportunities. For example, Realtors Judi Starliper and Janice Presnell held a Realtor open house in Weatherstone subdivision. However, this wasn’t your typical finger food affair, this was a poolside, progressive lunch that featured door prizes. By hosting a unique event, other real estate agents were eager to attend. The result: driving traffic to the property and making connections with as many people who can help you achieve the ultimate goal, selling the home and satisfying a client.

Joining civic organizations is an excellent way to network with other professionals and stay up-to-date with community events. For example, Judi Starliper is a member of the Rotary Club of Knoxville and was elected to the organization’s board of directors.

Social networking is another avenue that Realtors are utilizing to stay in contact with other agents, with clients and with potential clients. Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn are three popular social networking sites being used by professionals worldwide. Social networking is a strategy that is becoming increasingly important to successfully work with this generation. Clients expect instant information and implementing the latest technologies allow Realtors to provide the level of expected customer service.

Through networking opportunities, Realtors communicate with other agents about trends in the real estate market, what type of properties clients are looking for and what houses are on the market.

What networking opportunities have you utilized?
