It’s a Beautiful Day In . . . Wentworth
The amenities, the location and excellent schools are what draws families with young children and empty-nesters alike to the Wentworth neighborhood in Farragut.
“It’s a very family friendly neighborhood,” says Linda Whitehead, a resident of Wentworth for 11 years. She said the neighborhood has seasonal activities for children. For example, at the end of the school year, the neighborhood association held a cook-out that featured games for children.
Located in Farragut off of Old Stage Road, Wentworth features all the amenities you could ask for in a subdivision and more. Basketball courts, a large swimming pool with a baby pool, tennis courts, walking trail and a clubhouse are some of the perks to living in Wentworth.
“We wanted serenity and privacy,” Linda said. She and her husband have grown children and wanted to build a home that was in a convenient location and also in a quiet neighborhood. Their home backs up to Willow Creek Golf Course with large trees that provide shade and privacy.
Another advantage to living in Wentworth is the active property owners association. The association has set up an electronic message board for neighborhood communication. If someone needs a babysitter, they can put the message out to their neighbors. If someone has patio furniture that they would like to sell, they can post it on the message board. “The email messages are very useful,” Linda said.
According to Linda, there are about 500 homes in the 15 year-old neighborhood.
